Mulligan
Announces Scholarship Winners
June
11, 2001
State
Representative Rosemary Mulligan (R-Des Plaines) is pleased
to announce the winners of the Illinois General Assembly
Scholarship Program. Eight qualifying college-level students
from the 55th District were selected for a one-year full
tuition scholarship at selected Illinois universities.
"Affording
college tuition these days is difficult both for parents
and students," said Mulligan. "With this scholarship,
and other opportunities available, students can receive
the quality education they deserve."
Rep.
Mulligan congratulated the 55th District students that were
selected for the Illinois General Assembly Scholarship:
Karen Czarnecki of Des Plaines, Menali Doshi of Park Ridge,
Erika Garcia of Des Plaines, Amy Czarnecki of Des Plaines,
Brigid Matchen of Park Ridge, Marissa Racette of Des Plaines,
Raoul Gravel of Des Plaines and Christopher Ciaston of Park
Ridge.
The
scholarship can be applied for the students at several State
schools, including the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign,
Springfield or Chicago, Chicago State University, Northern
Illinois University, Illinois State University and Eastern
Illinois University, among others.
"It
was very difficult for the Scholarship Advisory Committee
and myself to choose only a few out of the many outstanding
applications we received," added Mulligan. "A
special thanks to all students that applied and congratulations
to the winners, I wish you all continued success."
